Object First expands operations in Brazil and Latin America

POSTED ON: May 7th 2024

Through Veeam partners, such as Adistec, the company expands operations in the region to deliver a personalized solution to protect business.

Sao Paulo, Brazil – May 7, 2024 – Just over a year after starting operations in the United States and Canada, Object First, the developer of Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box-Immutability), the ransomware-proof backup storage appliance purpose-built for Veeam®, expands operations in Brazil and Latin America. Object First delivers a secure, simple, and powerful backup storage solution that doesn’t require technical or security expertise.

Since the launch of Ootbi in February 2023, Object First has completed more than 80 installations—six of which were valued at over USD 100,000—and achieved bookings growth of over 200% from the first to the second half of the year. As ransomware attacks continue to rise, impacting 66% of organizations in 2023, interest in the solution has surged, marked by a 400% increase in sales inquiries received over the same period.

“Immutable storage is an effective layer of ransomware defense, but not all organizations have the know-how to deploy and manage it,” said Johnny Yu, Research Manager, Storage and Computing at IDC. "Object First addresses this with an appliance that has S3 Object Lock enabled by default and is tailor-made for the backup use case through deep integration with Veeam backup software. The result is an immutable backup storage target in a one-box solution — no security expertise required."

Partner and Channel Focus

As a 100% channel company, Object First focused on building and investing in its strategic partner network throughout 2023 by providing education resources, sales and marketing programs, and exceptional customer support. As a result, the company onboarded more than 29 partners in less than nine months last year and was named by CRN on the Stellar Startups list for 2023.

"In our second year and beyond, we look forward to continuing our expansion in LATAM and EMEA, growing our reseller community to reach even more customers, and continuing to add to the innovation and benefits of Ootbi.”,” said David Bennett, CEO of Object First.

To drive the company's rapid expansion and innovation, Object First expanded its team by 64% in 2023, focusing on hiring team members dedicated to superior customer and partner experience, technology innovation, and the ability to scale a global presence. The team welcomed several experienced industry executives, including Andrew Wittman, Chief Marketing Officer, and Eric Schott, Chief Product Officer.

Expanding Global Distribution

Object First teamed up with distributors Arrow Electronics and TD Synnex, both global providers of technology products and services, to expand its presence in the United States.

Internationally, the company has developed key relationships in new markets, such as Brazil and Latin America with Adistec, a leader in value-added distribution in the region with over 20 years of experience delivering comprehensive IT solutions through channels; and in EMEA with Copaco and Ingram Micro, renowned businesses with the capacity to reach nearly 90 percent of the world’s population.
