Object First Reports 167% Year-Over-Year Increase in Global Bookings in Q1 2025
Demand for immutable data backup storage as last line of defense against ransomware fuels market success
BEVERLY, Mass. - May 13, 2025 – Object First, the provider of Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box-Immutability), the ransomware-proof backup storage appliance purpose-built for Veeam®, today announced a 167% year-over-year increase in bookings for Q1 2025. The company’s momentum continues to build as customers and partners conclude that immutable backup storage built on Zero Trust principles is the best defense against ransomware and other cyber threats.
“As organizations worldwide prioritize data security, we're committed to providing the only secure, simple and powerful backup storage solution purpose-built for the number one data resilience solution in the world—Veeam,” said David Bennett, CEO of Object First. “As recent Enterprise Strategy Group research shows, 81% of IT professionals recognize immutable backup storage built on Zero Trust principles like Object First is their strongest defense against ransomware. Our growing momentum shows both customers and partners leveraging Object First to become simply resilient.”
Growth Fueled by Innovation
Demand for Object First’s Ootbi backup storage solution continues to accelerate globally, with year-over-year bookings growth of 92% in the U.S. and Canada, and 835% in EMEA. Fueling this growth, Object First expanded its capabilities with the release of Ootbi version 1.6 in Q1 2025, adding security upgrades, enhanced access control, and updated monitoring features.
"With Ootbi by Object First, Veeam backup and restore infrastructure gets redefined. Simplicity, speed, and resilience come together in a solution designed to protect your data from day one,” said Eduardo Arana, Business Development Manager at Seidor Soluciones Globales , a technology consultancy and Object First partner in Spain. “Without complex configurations or extended deployment times, it is the perfect tool to prioritize information security in a dynamic and demanding environment."
Additionally, Object First launched its Backup Storage Calculator in Q1, which simplifies the process of planning and sizing backup capacity, and dramatically reduces the financial and performance risks of under- or over-provisioning. The tool delivers accurate estimates based on specific backup workloads and retention policies, providing detailed recommendations that can be easily downloaded.
Global Partner and Customer Expansion
In Q1 2025, Object First continued to expand its partner and customer base, achieving year-over-year growth of 67% in transacting partners and 185% in transacting customers.
Ryan J. Taylor, Network Systems Engineer at North Country Healthcare, an Object First customer in North America, shared, “Object First stood out by providing immutable object storage and very tight integration with Veeam. The simplicity of Object First's scalability was also a big deal for us. We knew it'd be as easy as adding another Ootbi to the existing cluster.”
Notable strategic channel milestones include CDW becoming the company’s first Platinum Tier Partner in North America, thanks to deep collaboration and significant business growth, and Arrow ECS becoming a pan-EMEA distributor, providing Object First wider coverage across EMEA. The company also officially announced expanded partnerships with Insight, MicroAge, Presidio, and expanded the EMEA sales team to support its rapid growth.
Industry Recognition
Highlighting the contributions Object First makes to its partners and customers, in Q1 2025, CRN included Object First in its 2025 Partner Program Guide, and leaders Pete Hannah and Harry Kurland were named as part of the EMEA and North American 2025 Channel Chiefs List, respectively.
